From Founder
Across the Pond Jewelry was founded in 2019 with the dream to create globally sourced, handmade and unique jewelry. Alexandra Zapatka, the owner and artist of the company, uses her passion for design and travel experiences in order to construct one of a kind jewelry pieces. She is inspired by the beauty and culture that she observes in each of her adventures and incorporates those influences into her work. Alex’s journeys have taken her to see many parts of North America, South America, Europe and Africa. When abroad, she engages with local artisans and works to understand the significance and story of each item she collects for her work.
Alex is originally from Connecticut in the United States, but currently lives in Colares, Portugal.
