The brand’s founder and artist, Alexandra Zapatka, blends her passion for design and travel to craft one-of-a-kind pieces. Alexandra’s travels have taken her across North America, South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia, where she connects with local artisans and learns the cultural significance behind the materials she collects. The name Across the Pond Products was inspired by the Atlantic Ocean—symbolizing both distance and connection—between Alexandra’s roots in Connecticut, USA, and her life abroad. While she is currently based back in Connecticut for a few months as her Portuguese visa processes, the brand remains deeply influenced by life lived abroad and the global perspectives gathered along the way.
