Across the Pond Products was founded in 2019 with the vision of creating unique, globally inspired jewelry that tells a story. The brand’s founder and artist, Alexandra Zapatka, combines her passion for design and travel to craft one-of-a-kind pieces. Each bead and stone used in her creations is carefully handpicked during her journeys, capturing the essence of the places she visits.
Alexandra’s extensive travels have taken her to North America, South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. She engages with local artisans and learns the cultural significance of the materials she collects, infusing each piece with the stories and beauty she encounters. The name “Across the Pond Products” was inspired by the Atlantic Ocean, which lies between her current home in Colares, Portugal, and her place of origin in Connecticut, USA.
Now based in Portugal, Alexandra continues to draw inspiration from the Atlantic coast’s breathtaking scenery and the charm of her surroundings, allowing her art to reflect the global richness she embraces.
